Valka city Ādama Tērauda school

The building of former elementary school is in the center of Valka, in the left side of Ausekļa street. This building was named Ādama Tērauda school, because he was a director of seminary to civil parish school teachers. He was impressive person in Valka in 20th – teacher , author of textbooks and activist of social life.

In the time of Second World War here was staff of army garrison. In that time, around this territory was high fence. It calls city in the city. Here was all for army men needs – shop, hospital, boiler house, and even a cafe, whose walls were made from ceramic mosaic. People say that here was direct cable with Kremlin in Moscow.

Army left this place in the end of 80th and took all which they can remove, even tiles of pool.

Earlier this building was the proudest building in the city, but now it looks sad. However, this building had this historical mean and charm.
